Terms of Service

Last updated: September 10, 2026

These terms cover your use of Two Bishops ("we", "our", "the app"). By using the app or website, you agree to them. If anything here doesn't work for you, please don't use the service, or reach out at [email protected] — we're a small, actively-developed project and happy to hear from you.

The service

Two Bishops is a chess training app: opening repertoire management, puzzles, guess-the-move, and endgame training. We're still actively building it — some of these features are available today, others are in progress or planned, and the set of what's available may change as we go.

Your account

You sign in with Google. Keep your account to yourself, use accurate information, and let us know if you think someone else has access to it. You must be at least 13 years old to use Two Bishops.

Your content

Repertoire units, puzzle sets, and any PGN you upload or create remain yours. By uploading content, you give us the license we need to store, process, and show it back to you as part of running the app. You're responsible for having the right to upload whatever you provide — for example, not wholesale-copying a paid course or book into a unit you upload.

Linking a Lichess account

Linking a Lichess account is optional and is governed by Lichess's own terms in addition to these. We're not responsible for Lichess's service, availability, or the accuracy of data it provides.

Acceptable use

Please don't try to reverse-engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorized access to the app or its backend, or use it in a way that disrupts the service for other users.

Availability and changes

We provide Two Bishops as-is, without a guaranteed uptime. Features may be added, changed, or removed as the app develops, and the service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance.

Ending your use

You can stop using Two Bishops at any time. See our Privacy Policy for how to request that your account and data be deleted. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms.

No warranty, limited liability

Two Bishops is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy of content. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes to these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
